This video is probably the most informative video I have seen on the topic of babies with eczema. It truly reminded me of my experience of taking my child to a health professional. Enjoy!

Livestrong.com is a website that has an abundant amount of information about healthy living. So for kicks I decided to join its community site and see what type of information they had available about eczema. To my surprise, they had some very value articles that shared a lot of great information. One of the most informative and practical articles they had about eczema was titled “5 Things You Need to Know About Food and Eczema.” This article really opened my eyes on how food can be linked to eczema. Well enjoy the read.
Baby Skin Care in the Cold Months
December 15th, 2009
Skin protection is very vital in the cold months of the year. Believe or not, babies are very prone to heat rashes and harsher eczema flare-ups.
Wait…Did I just say Heat Rashes in the Winter?!
Yes! It is a know fact that children can develop heat rashes because some parents pile layers of clothing on them to make sure they are really warm. I for one am guilty of this crime. Being a loving parent, you can’t help it that you want to take the extra precaution to keep your child safe and comfortable. But sometimes as it turns out, we can do more harm than help. Another thing parents must be aware of is that the dry warm air circulating in their home can also add to the cause of the heat rash and baby eczema flare-ups. The dry warm air can dry out your child’s skin, which leads to the itching and scratching, which then leads to a heat rash or an eczema flare up.
If your child develops either of these conditions, dressing them in loose-fitting cotton clothing and avoiding over-bundling. Another thing I’ve found helpful was using a humidifier. I am an advocate of using a humidifier that automatically kills bacteria. The two I like using are the Vicks Pure Mist Humidifier and the Honeywell QuietCare UV Humidifier Tower. Lastly, as I’ve mentioned many times in my previous post, keeping your baby’s fingernails trimmed. Continuous scratching of the infected areas can lead to secondary infections. And it seem that nothing great every comes out of seeing your child suffer from an infection.
Like always, talk to your doctor or pediatrician before diagnosing your child’s skin condition and finding the right treatments.

Amazing Baby Eczema Info: Beat Eczema
December 3rd, 2009
Beat Eczema eBook is proabably one of the greatest resources I’ve been exposed to when it comes to treating baby eczema. I first discovered this book when a friend of mine suggested this book to expand my knowledge on this hampering disease. Not only did it give informative explanations on the root causes and effects eczema has on infants, but it gave me simple easy to follow step by step instructions on eliminating eczema in Weeks!
Additionally You will Learn How to:
- Stop Your Baby’s Irritating Itching
- Help Your Child Sleep Pain Free
- Eliminate Dry Skin
- Activate the Body’s Natural Healing Powers
What I was extremely impressed with the section about the section on Natural Healing. Natural ways of healing are becoming more popular because the ever growing cases of patients being misdiagnosed and receiving the wrong medications with then leads to harsher health conditions. That not a case you want your child to be a part of.

Exploring Different Baby Eczema Treatments
December 1st, 2009There are many avenues a parent can take to find the right baby eczema treatment. Each treatment has its pro’s and cons but each can help combat the itching, inflammation, and discharges associated with this very uncomfortable and disheartening condition. These baby eczema treatments have been designed to reduce inflammation, moisturize your baby’s skin, and help suppress severe baby eczema flare ups. And just as a reminder, these treatments can not permanently cure baby eczema.
General baby eczema treatment comes in many forms: moisturizers, itch-relief medication, corticosteroids, immunomodulators, antibiotics, light therapy, diet monitoring, and gene therapy. Each of these treatments specializes in targeting particular symptom or aspect of the disease. None the less, I don’t recommend using all these treatment for your baby’s skin. But the following is my list of baby eczema treatments that worked for my child and ones I highly recommend.
My Recommend Best Baby Eczema Treatment: Moisturizers

I am a huge advocate of moisturizing your baby’s skin with a moisturizer that contains natural Vitamin E. Moisturizers come in many different forms such as Emollients, Creams, Ointments, Soaps, and Lotions. These types of moisturizers promote and help the skin retain its natural moisture. Moisturizers are said to be the single most important and effective health-care Eczema treatment in existence.
My #2 Recommended Baby Eczema Treatment: Diet Monitoring
I found that monitoring my baby’s diet as a form of eczema treatment worked wonders. I found this to be highly effective because this treatment helped me remove allergen foods from my child’s diet that triggered harsh eczema flare ups. Diet Monitoring requires a lot of your attention and calls for you to be very discipline. Without discipline, this treatment can have no effect.
Combining my recommended baby eczema treatment #1 and #2 brought major relief to my son. I personally didn’t have go further than these treatments to help me solve this baby eczema treatment search.
Now the next list of baby eczema treatments are treatments I’ve tried but experienced limited success. I’m exposing this list just in case you have already tried my top 2 recommendations and didn’t experience the excellent results my son had. This list is in no particular order and I strongly suggest you talk to your doctor or pediatrician and do more research on these treatments before you consider using any of them.
Other Eczema Treatments:
Antihistimines – Helps reduces itching during an Eczema flare-up.
Antibiotics - This baby eczema treatment will help fight off infections, should one of your baby’s open wounds get infected.
Capsaicin – Helps counteracts the itching by mitigating the body’s itch signals.
Light therapy (Not Recommended and Mainly for Adult Eczema) – This treatment exposes ultraviolet light on PUVA, UVB, and/or Narrow Band UVB to combat the symptoms of Eczema.
Photo-ChemoTherapy (Not Recommended and Mainly for Adult Eczema) - this treatment combines efforts of light therapy and a drug called Psoralen to combat the symptoms of Eczema.
Gene Therapy (Not Recommended and Mainly for Adult Eczema) – This treatment is still fairly new and extremely expensive.
Whatever baby eczema treatment you choose, please consider all the pros and cons and talk to a qualified health professional for any questions you may have.
